FEBRUARY 14: FUNERAL FOR HOA TRUONG

We are sad to announce that Vien’s husband, Hoa, passed away on February 3. There will be a funeral held at Thompson in the Park funeral home on February 14 at 10:00am. Donations can be made in Hoa’s name to Cancercare Manitoba.

FEBRUARY 15: CHINESE CHOIR @ BETHESDA

Be sure to stay for a special lunch in honour of Chinese New Year! The choir from the Manitoba Academy of Chinese Studies will be with us to share some beautiful traditional Chinese vocal and instrumental music. If there’s time, they will also teach us to sing a New Year’s greeting song! The MACS choir rehearses every Saturday afternoon at Bethesda and Philip and Rose Marie’s aunt and uncle were among the founders…50 years ago. We are excited to welcome them, deepen friendships, and honour our Chinese brothers and sisters at this special time of year!

FEBRUARY 12: TIK TOK – IT’S TIME TO TALK ABOUT SOCIAL MEDIA AND THE BRAIN

Dr. Chris Mattatall, a renowned expert who speaks nationally and internationally on the Science of Learning, will be presenting a special evening session at Linden Christian School. His work focuses on how the brain develops, strategies to strengthen student memory, and building self-regulation. With over 30 years of experience as a teacher and administrator, his insights are invaluable for parents navigating the complexities of modern education and child development.

• Time: 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm
• Location: Grant Church Sanctuary (877 Wilkes)
• Cost: free, no registration necessary, open to all

FEBRUARY 15: 2026 BUDGET MEETING

Please plan to stay after the service for the presentation of Bethesda’s 2026 budget. Whether or not you are a member at Bethesda, you are most welcome—even strongly encouraged—to come! Budgeting is a tangible demonstration of our trust in God’s provision which means that it is as much a spiritual exercise as it is practical. Giving with an open heart is perhaps the most obvious expression of worship there is, so it’s not surprising that stewarding our resources for the kingdom was one of Jesus’ favourite topics to teach on. Plus, it’s important for everyone to know and ask questions about how the leadership feels God is leading us to allocate the money he will inspire you to give in 2026 to accomplish his purposes through Bethesda!
